The Launch Celebration of Lorica Ministries on April 21st was an exciting opportunity to share the mission and progress of our current ministries as well as Lorica’s vision for the future. Many of us, maybe even most of us, have faced periods of spiritual drought where we feel disconnected from our faith. We recognize the importance of dedicating time to reading the Bible, praying, and cultivating our relationship with God, but we find it challenging to initiate these activities due to a lack of direction and time. This can leave us feeling frustrated, guilty, and unworthy of God’s love and attention.
It shouldn’t be this way. We were meant to be in relationship with God. An important part of the Good News, of the Easter message, is that Jesus did not die and rise again so we would live defeated, mediocre lives!
Which is why we started Lorica Ministries.
The launch of Lorica Ministries offers an opportunity for you to invest in a “new thing” that God is already using for His glory and the benefit of people who want to experience greater Christian spiritual vitality and intentional living. Lorica Ministries is not a program, but rather a movement, to ignite Christian spirituality throughout the world! Lorica Ministries provides practical resources and materials that make spiritual formation accessible, satisfying, and sustainable. It provides a constructive framework of tools to equip people for Christian spiritual vitality and to “feed themselves.” Lorica’s delivery model focuses on training through coaching, consulting and cohort groups to create “relational networks” locally, regionally, and throughout the world.
The details involved in launching a new ministry like Lorica are many and daunting:
- Filing as a legal entity and meeting all the regulatory standards involved.

Forming a board of directors, creating and documenting operational procedures.
- Prayerfully identifying and articulating Lorica’s Mission, Vision and Values.
- Creating a website and social media presence.

Building the “business” systems essential to the ministry’s functioning and impact. How are SoulShaping materials ordered, shipped and paid for? How are SoulShaping cohorts promoted, registered for, and held?
- Converting the SoulShaping book and Journal into digital form.

Preparing and publishing new books, seminar outlines, and course materials for specific audiences, such as students, families, leaders, and those working in the mission field.
- Considering the need for scholarships and developing an international reach.
There is a cost attached to nearly every aspect of launching a ministry like Lorica. Thanks to God for prompting a small group of visionary people who already see the impact of Lorica-sponsored cohorts, the SoulShaping experience and material. They have given generously and funded the early start-up costs. Lorica Ministries’ board of directors is committed to keeping staffing costs to a bare minimum and relying on third party vendors to outsource our administrative responsibilities wherever possible and cost effective.
The time has come when this “new thing” Lorica Ministries, can benefit from a growing band of folk who want to help launch a ministry which we believe will become an international, Kingdom-building resource that God uses among current and future generations.
